Arsenal interested in signing Feyenoord’s Quinten Timber

By on June 2, 2025

Arsenal are reportedly interested in signing Feyenoord star Quinten Timber, as per Caught Offside.

The Gunners purchased Jurrien Timber from Ajax Amsterdam a couple of years ago. Upon moving to the Emirates Stadium, he sustained a serious knee issue and couldn’t serve properly in his debut campaign.

However, he managed to stay fit and played a key role for Mikel Arteta’s side in the recently concluded season, making six goal contributions and keeping seven clean sheets in the Premier League and Champions League.

The North London club are now looking to reunite Jurrien with his twin brother Quinten this summer. They were together in the Ajax youth system before Quinten joined Utrecht back in 2021, and after being impressed by his performances at Stadion Galgenwaard, Feyenoord decided to hire him in the following year.

Now, Caught Offside claim that the midfielder’s existing deal at De Kuip will expire at the end of next season, and Feyenoord are in talks to extend his contract. However, should an agreement not be reached over the coming weeks, they would be ready to let him leave to avoid losing him for free next year. They want a fee of up to £25m for him.

Timber to Arsenal

Arsenal have registered their interest in signing him and have been monitoring his situation before making a potential swoop in this summer window. However, purchasing Timber won’t be easy, as Liverpool, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur, plus clubs from Italy, Germany, and Spain, are also keen on signing him.

Like his brother, Quinten picked up a serious knee injury a few months ago and had to undergo surgery. He has been going through the recovery process at the moment.

Apart from that, Timber has consistently struggled with fitness problems in recent years. Therefore, Arsenal need to be careful about that before making any potential swoop for him.

He usually plays as a No.8 at Feyenoord but is also efficient in the double midfield pivot role. The Dutchman is still just 23 and isn’t a finished article yet.

However, after closing in on a deal to sign Martin Zubimendi, Arsenal don’t need a new midfielder should they manage to keep hold of Thomas Partey.
