Arsenal prioritising to sign Aurelien Tchouameni next summer
Arsenal are reportedly prioritising signing Real Madrid star Aurelien Tchouameni next summer, as per Football Transfers.
Having joined Los Blancos at the beginning of last season, the 23-year-old started his career at the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu promisingly. But, he struggled to break into Carlo Ancelotti’s first eleven last term after the resumption of club football following the conclusion of the World Cup.
Nevertheless, he has secured his place at the heart of Real Madrid’s midfield this season and has managed to fill the void of Casemiro seamlessly.
According to the report by Football Transfers, Arsenal are planning to sign a long-term successor of Thomas Partey and Jorginho and have identified Tchouameni as a serious option.
The report further claims that Arsenal previously expressed their interest in signing the Frenchman this summer and even opened talks with Real Madrid to learn about the details of signing the 23-year-old. But, the Spanish giants made it clear that the player isn’t for sale.
Tchouameni to Arsenal
However, Football Transfers states that Real Madrid could be forced to make a big sale to comply with the FFP regulations as they are contemplating spending big next summer. So, they may opt to cash-in on Tchouameni if Arsenal make a formal approach.
It has previously been reported that Real Madrid are expected to demand at least £87m – the figure that they spent to sign the midfielder during the summer of 2022 – to let their star man leave. So, Arsenal will have to spend big to lure Tchouameni to the Emirates Stadium next year.
Tchouameni is dynamic, technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, is efficient in defensive contributions and also has an eye for long-range passing. In addition to that, he is good in the air, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas and can also read the game extremely well.
The 23-year-old is deemed one of the best midfielders in the world so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they manage to acquire his service.
However, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal can manage to secure the midfielder’s signature if they make a concrete approach next summer.
