Arsenal plotting audacious swoop for Brighton ace Ferguson

By on August 22, 2023

Arsenal are reportedly contemplating an audacious swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion star Evan Ferguson, as per Football Transfers.

The Seagulls have been showcasing their abilities to find young talents from all around the world and develop them by giving regular game-time in the Premier League.

By following that pathway, they have now established themselves as one of the most exciting teams in the English top-flight in recent times, qualifying for the European competition for the first time in their history this term.

However, they have been forced to sell some of their biggest assets along the way over the last few years with Moises Caicedo being the latest one to depart the club in this transfer window for a British record £115m fee. But, despite selling some of their stars over the last few years, Brighton have managed to replace them by signing quality young talents.

Meanwhile, Ferguson, who is only 18, is already starting to attract the attention of several upper echelons of Premier League clubs in recent times.

Ferguson to Arsenal

Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur have previously expressed their intention of signing the youngster. But Arsenal have now also joined the race to sign Ferguson to bolster their attack.

According to the report by Football Transfers, Arsenal are planning to make a move for Ferguson next summer and Brighton have slapped a whopping £100m price tag on the striker’s head.

The report further claims that Spurs were also interested in him but they have decided to cool down their interest after knowing the huge price tag. Man Utd are also keen on acquiring his service but, the Gunners are most likely to make a move to sign him next summer.

Ferguson has burst onto the scenes in recent times after displaying promising performances for Brighton in the Premier League last term. So, it is not a surprise to see that Arsenal have decided to register their interest in signing him to bolster their frontline.

Gabriel Jesus has been struggling with his knee problems since joining the club, while Eddie Nketiah hasn’t been able to showcase his goal-scoring prowess yet for Arsenal. So, signing a new prolific striker would be the right decision and Ferguson would be an excellent signing for Arsenal if they manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium ahead of next term.
