Aubameyang one of 4 Arsenal players named in Premier League Team of the Week
Arsenal have had four players named in the WhoScored? Premier League Team of the Week following our 3-0 victory over Stoke City at the weekend.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang stole the headlines as our record signing scored twice during the win on Sunday afternoon to take his tally to 5 goals in his 6 league appearances since arriving from Borussia Dortmund in January.
The Gabon international opened the scoring from the penalty spot before making it 2-0 with a neat finish in the 85th minute and he even unselfishly passed up the opportunity to score his hat-trick late on.
Aubameyang has now been named in the WhoScored? TOTW after earning himself a score of 8.7 – which was one of the best scores of any player at the weekend.
Mesut Ozil also made the cut thanks to a score of 8.3. I personally didn’t think Ozil had his best game on Sunday but his stats must have been solid for him to earn his score and a place in the TOTW.
Shkodran Mustafi has had his critics this season but the German international didn’t put a foot wrong against Stoke and he made the team with a score of 7.9.
Laurent Koscielny was rested ahead of our Europa League quarter-final with CSKA Moscow and his replacement, Calum Chambers, has made the TOTW after sneaking in with a score of 7.6.
That means Arsenal dominate the Team of the Week with four representatives while Leicester City also perform well with three players in the eleven.
Here is the full TOTW:
