[Photos] Arsenal handed boost as injury doubt trains ahead of West Brom trip
Arsenal have been handed a major injury boost with Granit Xhaka able to take part in full training today ahead of our trip to West Brom on Sunday.
Xhaka went down holding the top of his thigh after falling awkwardly during our 3-2 win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Thursday night.
The Swiss international was able to continue after receiving treatment but he was clearly in discomfort and was eventually replaced by Ainsley Maitland-Niles in the 87th minute.
Arsene Wenger didn’t give any update on Xhaka’s situation after the game so there has been some doubt over his fitness amid fears the midfielder had picked up a groin/thigh injury.
However, it looks like the injury was nothing serious as Xhaka was able to take part in full training today as the players prepare for tomorrow’s trip to the Hawthorns.
The news comes as a huge boost as with Aaron Ramsey still nursing a hamstring injury the last thing we needed was another midfielder being sidelined, especially with Chelsea coming up on Wednesday.
However, there was still no Olivier Giroud at London Colney as he’s still nursing a hamstring injury while Nacho Monreal was also absent as he continues to recover from an ankle injury.
