La Liga star considering Arsenal offer after Wenger makes audacious swoop

According to reports in Spain via the Express, Gareth Bale is considering an offer from Arsenal after Arsene Wenger made a surprise move for the Real Madrid attacker.
Bale has been tipped to leave the Bernabeu either in January or next summer after enduring a tough 18 months that have been hampered by a series of injury problems.
The 28-year-old made just 26 starts last season and has 9 appearances to his name so far this campaign having been ruled out until the New Year with a calf injury.
The likes of Isco and Marco Asensio have put Bale’s first team place under threat and there are increasing rumours that Florentino Perez is now looking to cash-in.
A return to the Premier League would be inevitable if Bale does leave Madrid with Man Utd and Tottenham the early favourites to secure his signature.
However, the Express are citing a report from Don Balon that claims Arsenal have now put forward an offer to Bale and the attacker is believed to be mulling it over.
The report says Bale is concerned about the backlash he’d face from Spurs fans if he joined Arsenal but is also keen on moving back to North London so a deal can’t be ruled out.
On the face of it, Bale would be a superb signing if we could somehow pull it off as, when fit, he’s still a world class attacker and he’d be a great replacement for Alexis Sanchez.
However, I think the chances of signing him are remote. United are the most likely destination and we can’t compete with the wages they’ll offer. And even if Bale does want to return to North London, surely he’d just rejoin Tottenham rather than ruin his status at WHL by joining their rivals?
I know Sol Campbell did it but he left a mediocre Spurs side to become an invincible at Arsenal. As much as I hate to admit it, Tottenham are a decent side these days and we are no longer the title contenders we were when Campbell joined us.
So as much as it’s nice to be linked with players like Bale, I don’t think we’ll be seeing him in an Arsenal shirt any time soon.
