[Tweet] Thierry Henry sends message to new Arsenal hero Eddie Nketiah
Thierry Henry was quick to send his congratulations to Eddie Nketiah after the youngster scored twice to help Arsenal secure a 2-1 victory over Norwich City last night.
Arsene Wenger was forced to call upon the 18-year-old during the final stages of last night’s League Cup clash as Arsenal were trailing 0-1 with just minutes remaining.
Nketiah made an immediate impact as he tapped home the equaliser with his first touch just seconds after coming on in the 85th minute to send the game to extra-time.
The teenager then turned match-winner as he headed home from a Mohamed Elneny corner during the first half of extra-time to seal a 2-1 win that booked our place in the quarter finals of the cup.
Nketiah has been scoring goals for fun at youth level over the past year and Henry was quick to congratulate the striker following his Man of the Match display last night.
Henry took to Twitter to express his delight at Nketiah’s heroics and the Arsenal legend said he’s not surprised the youngster made such an impact having worked with him during his time coaching the kids at London Colney.
Nketiah responded by thanking Thierry before telling his followers that it was a dream come true for him to score twice on his home debut at the Emirates.
