Attackers agent hints at deal with Arsenal following ‘positive’ talks

According to quotes by Sky Sports News, Mesut Ozil’s agent has hinted the super-star could yet stay at Arsenal following ‘positive’ talks over a new contract.
Ozil’s future at Arsenal has been in serious doubt over the past few months as he’s now in the final year of his contract and has shown no sign he’s close to signing an extension.
Widespread reports in the newspapers have suggested that Ozil has made up his mind to leave the Emirates so fans have been resigned to the ideal that the playmaker will be off at the end of the season.
However, that may not be the case as Ozil’s agent Dr Erkut Sogut has now been quoted by Sky Sports News as saying that the attacker wants to stay in the Premier League and talks with Arsenal over a new deal are heading in a positive direction.
Sogut is quoted as saying:
“Ozil wants to play another two to three years in the Premier League.
“Our contacts with Arsenal continue and are going in a positive way.”
These comments come just days after reports in the media suggested that Ozil is being forced to back down over his huge wage demands due to a lack of offers coming in for his services.
It would be a dramatic turn of events if the German international does end up signing a new deal at Arsenal but I personally wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen.
It’s not like Ozil has offers flying in from Europe’s top clubs and perhaps only Manchester United would be interested in taking him [and paying him what he wants] from England.
So for all the speculation in the media, it seems there is still a possibility that Ozil will stay at the Emirates and sign a new deal. Let’s see how things develop over the coming weeks….
