[Photos] 17-year-old trains with Arsenal squad but several key players missing
Reiss Nelson was among the players who took part in training today as Arsenal prepared for tomorrow night’s Europa League clash with Cologne.
The 17-year-old has been tearing it up in the under-23 league with six goals already this season and he was recently named as the U23 Player of the Month.
Arsene Wenger has hinted the teenager will be given a chance in the first team this season and it looks like he might get a chance to impress in the Europa League tomorrow night.
Nelson trained with the rest of the squad at London Colney this afternoon and he’s being tipped to be involved against Cologne – although it’s not clear if Wenger will start him or put him on the bench [check out my preferred line-up for the game].
Alexis Sanchez was also out on the training pitches today so he’s expected to feature tomorrow as he looks to work his way back in to Wenger’s plans after failing to force a move away during the summer window.
However, the boss is set to rest several of his key players as Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil, Alexandre Lacazette, Laurent Koscielny, Granit Xhaka, Petr Cech and Danny Welbeck all sat out training today so are unlikely to start against Cologne.
