Wilshere set for Arsenal playing return despite nightclub incident

Jack Wilshere is still set to make his first appearance of the season in an Arsenal shirt by turning out for the under-21’s on Friday despite being involved in a fracas at a nightclub on Saturday night.

Wilshere once again hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons after footage emerged of him being quizzed by police after being thrown out of Cafe de Paris nightclub in London in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A report in the Mirror claimed that a club promoter told officers that Jack has struck him during an altercation inside the club before the argument spilled out on to the streets where police intervened.

Jack has denied the allegations that he was involved in any assault but Arsenal have confirmed they intend to speak with the 24-year-old and Arsene Wenger is sure to have a dim view on this latest unsavoury incident after warning the midfielder about his conduct several times in the past few years.

However, the Evening Standard claim that despite this latest misdemeanor, it won’t stop Wilshere from finally making his playing return for the under-21’s against Newcastle United on Friday.

Jack has only recently returned to full training after missing the entire season with a fractured fibula but the midfielder will look to get some much-needed match practice under his belt for the development side at the Emirates later this week.

As long as he doesn’t suffer any adverse reaction, Wilshere will then continue to work on his fitness with a view to finally making his first team return later this month.

His availability will come as a welcome boost during the closing stages of the season but lets just hope Jack can start to fill the back pages for his football, rather than his off-field antics.
