Jack Wilshere injury update….
According to the Daily Mail, Jack Wilshere is back in light training and could finally make his long-awaited Arsenal comeback after the international break.
Wilshere has been on the sidelines the entire season having suffered a fracture fibula in training on the eve of our Community Shield victory over Chelsea in August.
The midfielder was initially ruled out for around three months after undergoing surgery in early September but a series of setbacks during his rehabilitation have seen Wilshere’s return constantly put on hold.
Arsene Wenger’s said at his pre-match press conference before the Hull game earlier this week that Jack was still at least three-to-four weeks away from making his first team return.
However, the Daily Mail are reporting today that Wilshere is back in light training and could finally be available after the upcoming international break.
The players head off with their national teams after our game with Everton on the 19th and as long as Jack doesn’t suffer any further setbacks in training, he could be back in contention for our home game with Watford on April 2nd.
But that’s a BIG if. The midfielder has struggled to shake-off his latest injury so it wouldn’t surprise anyone if Jack did break down again once he steps up his training over the coming weeks.
Let’s hope not though as his return would be a massive boost following the news that Aaron Ramsey is facing around six weeks on the sidelines with a thigh tear. With Arsene struggling for midfield options, Wilshere’s return could be just the thing we need to give us a real lift during the run-in.
