Injured Arsenal star facing prospect of another 2 months out
It’s going to be an important couple of weeks for Jack Wilshere as the Mirror claim we’ll know in the next fortnight whether he’ll require surgery on his latest injury.
Jack hasn’t played yet this season after fracturing his lower fibula at the start of August. He underwent surgery and was expected to return after the recent international break.
However, the 23-year-old suffered a set-back last week and Arsene Wenger has admitted the injury is taking far longer to heal than expected.
The Mirror claim that we’re going to give it another two weeks to see how things progress but if there is no sign of serious improvement, then Jack will be sent to see a specialist to determine the next course of action.
The newspaper suggests that if things don’t improve quickly then more surgery would be on the cards which would see a metal plate inserted into the midfielders leg.
If he is forced to go under to knife, the Mirror says Wilshere would then be ruled out for at least another six weeks which would make it around two months when you factor in the two week monitoring period.
So it’s safe to say this is a pivotal time for Wilshere as he simply can’t afford to be ruled out for that length of time again. His career is stagnating and his injury record is becoming a more than a little concerning. The new Diaby? Let’s hope not.
Fingers crossed this latest injury heals sufficiently over the next two weeks and we see Jack back sooner rather than later because the last thing we need is another player ruled out for the foreseeable future.
