Arsenal open talks ahead of €30m bid for exciting attacker – report

Is appears Arsene Wenger is already planning for January as according to the Express, Arsenal have opened talks with Real Madrid about a potential deal for Isco and will launch a €30m bid for the attacker this winter.

The boss endured a difficult summer window with Petr Cech our only significant new addition after Wenger failed to land any of his outfield targets.

A new striker was thought to be on his agenda but it if these reports are to be believed, then it looks like Arsene is hoping to bring in another attacking midfielder in January.

The Express claim Arsenal have already held initial talks with Real Madrid about Isco and will follow that up with a formal €30m (£22m) offer over the coming weeks.

Isco has struggled to hold down a regular first team place following his move to the Bernabeu from Malaga in 2013 and it’s led to speculation he could be on the move.

A switch to the Premier League could be on the cards as the Express suggest that as well as Arsenal, Manchester City have also made an enquiry about the playmakers availability this winter.

I’m sure the 23-year-old will see whether his first team chances improve under new boss Rafa Benitez during the first half of the season before making any decisions over his future but I’d personally love to see Isco join Arsenal as he’s a superb player.

The only problem is, he’s not exactly the type of player we desperately need right now. It would make much more sense to use that money on a striker or even a defensive midfielder.

However, I don’t think we’ll see Isco leaving Madrid in January anyway, so we’ll most likely have to wait until next summer if Arsene is keen on luring him to the Emirates.
