Key Target Ready To Demand £15m Arsenal Move – Report

According to reports today, Petr Cech is ready to tell Chelsea he wants to join Arsenal this summer as he’s keen to keep his family in London.

Cech is set to leave Chelsea after losing his place to Thibaut Courtois and he’s emerged as a key target for Arsenal with Arsene Wenger believed to be in the market for a new No.1.

Jose Mourinho has already said he’d prefer the 33-year-old to move abroad rather than join a Premier League rival, with PSG among the foreign clubs showing an interest, but there is the growing suspicion that Roman Abramovich will let the long-serving stopper move to any club he wants as a reward for his loyal service.

Goal are reporting today that Cech is keen to remain in England and is ready to demand a move to Arsenal as he wants to stay in London.

The Czech international has lived in the capital for 11 years and his children are settled at their schools, so Cech see’s Arsenal as the logical choice as he can remain in London and join a club competing at the highest level.

The keeper has just one year remaining on his contract but the report claims Chelsea will still want £15m for his signature, and I think that would be money well spent.

Ospina has done well enough since coming in to the side in January but he’s still not convinced me he’s the world class keeper we need, and if Cech is available and open to the move, it’s a no-brainer.

Szczesny has come out recently to say he’s staying but I think we might see him leave on a season-long loan if we do bring in Cech, or another No.1, with Southampton among those reportedly showing an interest.
