“I’m Really Happy At Arsenal” – Under-Fire Star Commits Future

Mesut Ozil has ruled out leaving Arsenal this summer after committing his future to the club.
Even when he’s playing well, Ozil has been constantly criticised by the British press and some sections of our own fan base since his move from Real Madrid in 2013.
Despite being arguably the best player on the pitch against Monaco on Tuesday, some fans and so-called pundits slammed his contribution and criticised him for swapping shirts at half time.
It’s led to speculation linking him with a move away this summer, with some reports tipping him to head back to Germany.
However, the 26-year-old has moved quickly to play down those rumours after telling reporters he’s happy at Arsenal and has no plans to leave the Emirates any time soon.
He told the Express:
“A return to Germany is not an option for me right now. I am really happy at Arsenal and I want this to continue.
“I played in the Bundesliga and at Real Madrid. But the English Premier League is the strongest league in the world. Opponents never give up. Even if we’re 3-0 in front with Arsenal, the players never give up and fight until the very last second.
“You can only succeed here when you’re on top level physically.
“I don’t need to prove them anything. But it is correct that I have to work harder to reach my goals.
“That’s why I’m working as hard as I never worked before in my life. My body is more stable and I feel fresher. You need that in England.”
Ozil is the type of player that’s never going to be fully appreciated until he leaves the club, but thankfully it doesn’t look like that will be happening any time soon.
