Arsenal ‘in talks’ to sign Jeremy Monga

By on June 4, 2026

Arsenal are ‘in talks’ to sign Leicester City winger Jeremy Monga this summer, according to Ben Jacobs

Monga may only be turning 17 in a few weeks, yet he is already leaving a notable mark on English football.

He became Leicester’s youngest-ever goalscorer after netting in a 2-1 defeat to Preston North End last August, to also become the youngest goalscorer in Championship history at 16 years and 37 days, breaking the previous record held by Jude Bellingham, who reached the mark for Birmingham City in 2019 at 16 years and 63 days.

During the 2024-25 campaign, Monga also became the second-youngest player to debut in the Premier League after Ethan Nwaneri when he came off the bench in a 3-0 loss to Newcastle United at just 15 years and 271 days, although that ranking has since been pushed down following Max Dowman’s debut at 15 years and 235 days against Leeds United last season.

Despite many of his 30 appearances across all competitions coming from the bench, the youngster has shown real promise, and a summer move is now widely anticipated.

Now, according to Ben Jacobs, Arsenal are ‘in talks’ over the potential transfer of Monga to the Emirates Stadium this summer.

However, the Gunners could face stern competition, as the transfer expert adds that several clubs across Europe have made enquiries about signing the youngster.

However, with Monga yet to sign a professional contract, a deal won’t be easy, as Jacobs clarifies that Leicester value the attacking starlet at over £10m and there’s a possibility a tribunal could decide the final fee for his transfer.

Monga is a two-footed winger typically deployed on the right but can also play on the opposite flank and even as an attacking midfielder behind the main striker.

He is quick, efficient in possession, creative and capable of producing moments that turn heads, as evidenced by his 84.7% pass completion and 50% long-ball accuracy last season.  Such qualities have drawn comparisons to England U16 teammate Max Dowman, who has already forced his way into Arsenal’s first team this season.

Based on what he has shown so far, Monga would represent a sensible long-term acquisition for the Gunners, fitting into their recent strong focus on youth recruitment, having signed players such as Jaden Dixon, Evan Mooney, and the Ecuadorian twins Holger Quintero and Edwin Quintero over the past 12 months.
