Arsenal receive huge boost in pursuit of Pedro Neto
Arsenal have received a huge boost in pursuit of Pedro Neto as Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly ready to cash-in on the Portuguese in the upcoming summer window, as per the Spanish outlet Fichajes.
The Gunners have been exploring the market to sign a new right-winger to support Bukayo Saka. Several names have been mentioned as potential targets with Neto emerging as a serious option.
The North London club have a long-term interest in the Portuguese as they tried to acquire his service a few years ago but Wolves were desperate to keep hold of their star man so, a deal didn’t materialise.
However, according to the report by Fichajes, Wolves have found themselves in financial difficulties and they need to raise funds by selling some players to balance their books.
The report further claims that Gary O’Neil’s side would be open to cashing-in on Neto this summer but they won’t let him leave for cheap and want a sizable fee. So, this will be a big boost for Arsenal to sign the winger.
Neto to Arsenal
It has been reported that Wolves want a fee of at least £60m from Neto’s potential suitors such as Arsenal so, the North London club will have to spend a big fee to lure him away from the Molineux Stadium.
However, Fichajes states that Liverpool have also been showing a strong interest in signing Neto so Arsenal are set to face tough competition from the Merseyside club in getting any potential deal done for him.
The 23-year-old is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the efficiency of creating opportunities for fellow teammates, can finish off his chances and also works extremely hard without possession.
Neto has already showcased glimpses of his qualities in the Premier League so he would be a great coup for Arsenal if they sign him ahead of next season.
However, the Portuguese has struggled with injury problems over the last few years so Arsenal should keep that in mind before making a potential swoop for him.
It is going to be interesting to see whether the Emirates club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign Neto in the upcoming transfer window to bolster their frontline.
