Arsenal contemplating swoop for Brighton star Mitoma
Arsenal are reportedly contemplating a swoop for Brighton and Hove Albion star Kaoru Mitoma in the upcoming transfer window, as per TEAMtalk.
The Gunners have established themselves as one of the contenders to challenge for the Premier League title in recent times. However, in order to stay at the top of their game, Mikel Arteta’s side need to refresh their squad by signing new players every year.
So, it appears Arsenal are contemplating strengthening their frontline by signing a new attacker ahead of next term. According to the report by TEAMtalk, the North London club are a big ‘admirer’ of Mitoma and they could look to make a swoop for him during the off-season.
It has recently been reported by Football Transfers(via TEAMtalk) that Brighton are ‘ready’ to let the Japanese leave the club at the end of this season and they are set to demand a fee of around £51m. So, Arsenal will have to spend a big fee to secure his signature.
However, TEAMtalk states that purchasing Mitoma won’t be straightforward for Arsenal as Manchester United and Liverpool are also keen on acquiring his service ahead of next season.
Mitoma to Arsenal
Mitoma has displayed impressive performances for Brighton in recent times, helping his side qualify for the European competition for the first time in their history.
Mitoma is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the ability to create opportunities for fellow attackers, can finish off his chances and also works extremely hard without possession.
The 26-year-old is a highly talented player and could be a shrewd signing for Arsenal to support Gabriel Martinelli if they purchase him. However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually opt to make a concrete approach to sign the Brighton star this summer.
Meanwhile, following an emphatic 6-0 victory over West Ham United, Arsenal will travel to Turf Moor Stadium to face off against Burnley in the Premier League next weekend. So, Mikel Arteta’s side will be hoping to continue their winning run by beating Vincent Kompany’s side to continue their title charge.
