Arsenal register interest in signing Benjamin Sesko

By on November 30, 2023

Arsenal have reportedly registered their interest in signing RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko in the upcoming transfer window, as per Football Transfers.

After joining Die Roten Bullen from Red Bull Salzburg in a £21m deal last summer, the 20-year-old has struggled to break into Marco Rose’s starting eleven this season, though he has already scored six goals in five starts in all competitions.

So, it appears after suitably being impressed by the Slovenia international’s displays this season, the North London club have registered their interest in signing him.

According to the report by Football Transfers, Arsenal have started to explore the market to sign a new striker in the upcoming transfer window and have internally discussed the possibility of signing Sesko.

However, the report claims that purchasing the forward won’t be straightforward for Arsenal as Newcastle United and Manchester United are also plotting a swoop for him.

Sesko to Arsenal

Football Transfers states that apart from the youngster, Dusan Vlahovic and Marcos Leonardo are also on the North London club’s wish-list. So, it is going to be interesting to see whether Arsenal eventually opt to make a swoop for any of those players in the upcoming transfer window.

Having recently joined the club, Sesko still has four and a half years left in his current contract. So, Leipzig are in no rush to let their star man leave and therefore, the Gunners will have to offer a lucrative proposal to the German club to persuade them to cash-in if they make a concrete approach.

Sesko, standing at 6ft 4in tall, is quick, strong, good in the air, has the efficiency of finishing off chances, has an eye for scoring goals from distance and also works extremely hard without possession.

The 20-year-old is a talented player and possesses high potential. So, with Arsenal reportedly looking to sign a new striker next year, Sesko could be an excellent signing if they opt to acquire his service.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually decide to formalise their interest in purchasing the Leipzig star in the upcoming transfer window to reinforce their frontline.
