Arsenal predicted line-up against RC Lens
Following a crucial victory over Brentford in the Premier League, Arsenal will take on RC Lens in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
After beating the Bees last weekend, the Gunners have now placed themselves at the top of the Premier League with 30 points from 13 games. So, they will be full of confidence ahead of tomorrow’s game.
Arsenal lost the reverse game versus Lens and Mikel Arteta’s side will be hoping to take revenge of that defeat in this encounter.
The Emirates club are currently at the top of their group with nine points from four games and a victory in this game means they will be able to secure their place in the knockout stage of Europe’s elite club competition.
Expected Arsenal line-up vs Lens
Aaron Ramsdale started last weekend’s game against Brentford as David Raya – who has joined the club on a loan deal – was ineligible to play against his parent club. But, it is expected that the Spaniard will return to the starting eleven for this game so Ramsdale could return to the bench.
William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes should keep hold of their place at the heart of Arsenal’s defence. So, Jakub Kiwior will have to settle for a place on the bench once again. Jurrien Timber isn’t available for selection due to a long-term knee issue.
Ben White should return to the starting eleven in the right-back position after commencing on the bench last weekend, while Oleksandr Zinchenko could continue on the opposite side. So, Takehiro Tomiyasu will return to the bench tomorrow.
Thomas Partey remains sidelined owing to a muscular problem so Declan Rice should start in the deep-lying playmaker position for the North London club. Kai Havertz could commence in the left side of the engine room, while Martin Odegaard should complete the midfield trio.
In that case, Jorginho will have to make do with a place on the bench. Fabio Vieira has undergone surgery to his groin and is set to remain sidelined for the upcoming few weeks so he isn’t in contention to feature tomorrow. Along with the Portuguese, Emile Smith Rowe is also unavailable for selection owing to injury problems.
Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka are expected to be on either flank, while Gabriel Jesus should lead the line for Arsenal. So, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson will have to settle for a place on the bench. Leandro Trossard is also likely to commence on the bench after starting in midfield last time out.
