Arsenal showing interest in Real Betis star Luiz Henrique
Arsenal are reportedly showing an interest in Real Betis winger Luiz Henrique, as per the transfer insider Dean Jones.
It has widely been touted that the Gunners are set to be busy once again in this upcoming summer window and are looking to strengthen with the view of constructing a squad that will be capable of challenging on all fronts in the coming years.
It has previously been reported that the Gunners boss has been looking to sign a new right winger as support for Bukayo Saka and Henrique appears to be the target who is on Arteta’s radar.
Writing on GiveMeSport, Jones has claimed that Arsenal will send scouts to monitor Henrique ahead of a potential summer move when the Brazilian will be in action against Manchester United at Old Trafford in the first leg of the Europa League round of 16 tie next Thursday.
Henrique to Arsenal
However, the journalist states that signing the South American won’t be easy for the north London club as they are likely to face a tough challenge from English rivals Aston Villa and West Ham United in securing Henrique’s signature next summer.
The 22-year-old just moved to the Estadio Benito Villamarin from Fluminese last summer and he still has more than five left in his current contract. So, Betis are in no rush to sell their star man over the coming months. However, it has been reported that the Verdiblancos could let the winger leave if they receive an offer of around £44m.
Henrique is technically sound, quick, strong, good in the air, has an eye for scoring goals from distance, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas and also works hard without possession.
The Betis man certainly possesses high potential and could be a very good acquisition for Arsenal with the view to a long-term future. However, he is still young and needs to improve a lot before being able to showcase his best consistently at the highest level.
Therefore, it is going to be interesting to see whether the north London club formalise their interest in signing him at the end of this season or turn their attention to a more established target.
