Arsenal would be an ideal destination for PSV Eindhoven forward Cody Gakpo, as per the reputed transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.

The 23-year-old has been enjoying a stellar start to this new campaign, scoring 13 goals and notching up 11 assists in 18 games, so far, in all competitions.

The Netherlands international was previously linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in the summer, however, Arsenal never intensified their interest in signing the highly-rated forward.

During an interview with Wettfreunde, Di Marzio claimed that Gakpo is a very good player, and having played for the Eredivisie giants PSV, the forward is accustomed to the highly intense style of football, so, the Premier League would be the perfect destination for him.

The journalist further states that Arsenal would be the right club for Gakpo and along with the Gunners, the transfer expert also mentions Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur as suitable destinations for the PSV man.

Premier League move

Di Marzio said:

“I know him [Gakpo] very well. He’s a very, very good player. Of course, playing in the Eredivisie at PSV and Ajax you learn intensity and quality. So the Premier League is the right move for players like him. I think Manchester United, Arsenal or Tottenham are the right projects for a quality and intense player like him.”

Cody Gakpo could be an excellent acquisition for Arsenal. After a productive campaign last term, the forward has continued his excellent form this season so the 23-year-old is turning into a consistent performer.

The Gunners need to strengthen their flanks and the Netherlands international could be a perfect addition. He predominantly plays on the left wing but can be deployed anywhere across the front line and his versatility would help Mikel Arteta in rotating his squad if Gakpo were to join the Emirates Stadium.

Gakpo is valued at around £32m by Transfermarkt but Arsenal may have to spend more in January, depending on the Dutchman’s performance at the World Cup. The forward still has 4 years remaining on his current contract so PSV are under no pressure to sell on the cheap.

It will be interesting to see what Arsenal decide to do in January but Gakpo would be a great purchase for the north London club if they formalise their interest.

But the management takes their own time to analize players they want to buy which always give upper hand to the oponent. i hope between him and Mudrik we get one in january and a DM that would push us alot in second round.
