Arsenal are reportedly expected to remain ‘busy’ in the final few days of the transfer window as per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners have been active in this transfer window as they have already made five major acquisitions this summer, but the north London club aren’t looking likely to halt their transfer business yet and are ready to make more additions to their squad.

Writing on CaughtOffside, Fabrizio Romano has stated that Edu and Mikel Arteta are ‘busy’ in the transfer window and they ‘will try to find the right opportunity’ to sign new players.

The journalist further claims that Arsenal might find it difficult to broker a deal for Pedro Neto this summer as Wolves want more than £50m for their star man and it will be up to the club whether they will pay that sum. On the other hand, Arteta’s side haven’t made a concrete approach yet to sign Villarreal youngster Yeremy Pino and the Yellow Submarines are ‘hoping to keep’ the 19-year-old beyond this summer.

Romano also says that Arsenal were prioritizing their outgoings before focusing on signing a new winger and following the departure of Nicolas Pepe, the north London club could intensify their pursuit of a new wide attacker but ‘it won’t be easy’ for them.

Arsenal want to sign a new winger

Romano said:

“Yes, Arsenal will try to find the right opportunity with Edu and Mikel Arteta busy in the next hours and days. There’s no movement or bid for Yeremi Pino as of now, and Villarreal are hoping to keep him. For Pedro Neto, it’s up to Arsenal if they want to try but is not an easy one as Wolves want a bid of more than £50m.

“Arsenal have left it a little late, but were focusing on outgoings such as Nicolas Pepe. As I said earlier in the summer, though, they were very interested in Raphinha before he ended up at Barcelona, and they have been looking for alternatives. It won’t be easy, but let’s see what happens in the next few days.”

Meanwhile, David Ornstein has reported that it is ‘highly improbable’ for Arsenal to sign Neto this summer as Wolves are reluctant to sell their youngster and it is ‘looking unrealistic’ for Arteta’s side that they will be able to pay the West Midlands club’s asking price.

So, it will be interesting to see who the Gunners will sign before Thursday’s transfer deadline in order to bolster their wide areas. Arsenal must strengthen their forward line as they lack depth in that department and the Gunners might struggle to showcase consistency this term as well if they fail to add more firepower to their flanks.
