According to reports, Arsenal have submitted offers for Gabriel Jesus and Lisandro Martinez while we’re also hoping to land Raphinha as part of a sensational summer splurge.

FC Porto confirmed late last week that Arsenal have agreed a deal worth up to £34m to sign attacking midfielder Fabio Vieira. The 22-year-old is understood to be in London undergoing his medical before signing a five-year contract.

Vieira is set to become Arsenal’s third signing of the summer following the arrivals of Marqinhos and Matt Turner, however, it doesn’t look like the spending is going to stop any time soon.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are targeting at least three more signings with Martinez, Raphinha and Jesus all on Mikel Arteta’s radar.

The news outlet says Arsenal have made Martinez a prime target and saw an opening £25m bid rejected by Ajax. However, the Daily Mail claims that we’ve returned with an improved offer worth £30m and hope to get a deal agreed for the South American.

Martinez is predominantly a left sided centre-back but is also comfortable playing at left-back so he’ll provide top class support for Gabriel and Kieran Tierney if he comes to the Emirates this summer. If we sign the Argentinean international, it could pave the way for Nuno Tavares to depart with the youngster being linked with a move to Atalanta.

Arsenal’s interest in Jesus is well-known and The Athletic are one of several media outlets saying the club are confident a deal will be agreed with City. After seeing an opening offer rejected, Globo Esporte claims that Arsenal have now met City’s £50m [€58m] asking price and a deal could be wrapped-up over the coming days.

Jesus is reportedly keen on being reunited with Arteta in north London, despite the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham being linked, so it would be a major coup if Arsenal can pull off a deal for the Brazilian striker.

The Athletic says Arteta is also targeting a move to sign Raphinha but any potential deal is likely to be contingent on Nicolas Pepe leaving. Raphinha is valued at around £55m [source: Daily Mail] by Leeds United so understandably Arsenal are going to need to bring in some funds to be able to afford a move for the attacker.

Pepe is the most obvious candidate as he’s fallen out of favour but it remains to be seen how much Arsenal can recoup of the £72m they paid Lille for his signature three years ago. Personally, I think we’ll be lucky to get near £20m for him now.

We can offload the likes of Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira and Ainsley Maitland-Niles to help raise further funds but it looks like Arsenal mean business in the transfer market again this summer.

If The Athletic are right and we sign Martinez, Jesus and Raphinha, then it will cost around £135m. The £34m deal for Vieira takes the outlay to almost £170m, while the report says Arsenal are also still hoping to pull off a £25m deal for Youri Tielemans – which would take the spending to £195m!

Any deal for Tielemans could be dependent on Granit Xhaka leaving, according to The Athletic, so we could bring in a decent fee for the Swiss international. But it’s clear Arsenal are going to be spending heavily this summer as Arteta looks to build a squad capable of challenging next season.

arsenal can’t hear you, that’s the most frustrating part, cos if they don’t sign tielemans then I won’t be satisfied with their business

Buy now, buy early so we start the season with a team not waiting on transfers to make a team.

We need to get them in early to actually give them a chance to gell before the season kicks off.
To many times weve had late arrivals thrust on the pitch with no idea of the playing style. About time Arsenal sorted this out.
