According to the Mirror, super-agent Kia Joorabchian is hoping to secure deals that would see Willian and Philippe Coutinho join Arsenal this summer.

Mikel Arteta has made it clear he wants to strengthen his squad as he looks to build a side capable of breaking back into the top four next season but it looks like the boss will be working from a shoe-string budget this summer.

Arsenal are in real danger of missing out on European football for the first time in 25 years as we sit ninth in the table and will have to beat Manchester City to stand a chance of qualifying for the Europa League by winning the FA Cup.

Even if we do manage to secure European football for next season, Arsenal will still have limited funds to spend unless we can generate money from player sales but it looks like Joorabchian is hoping to help out by facilitating two cheap deals.

The super agent has developed close ties with the Arsenal hierarchy after we signed David Luiz and Cedric Soares and the Mirror claims Joorabchian now wants to take two more of his clients to the Emirates this summer – namely Willian and Coutinho – who’ve both been strongly linked with us recently.

Willian is set to be available on a free transfer after failing to agree terms over a new deal with Chelsea while Coutinho could join on loan from Barcalona after failing to secure a permanent move to Bayern Munich.

I’m sure we’d face competition from plenty of clubs for the Brazilian duo but Arsenal’s close relationship with Joorabchian could sway things in our favour, and it seems the agent is hoping to secure deals to take Willian and Coutinho to north London.

I personally feel this would be excellent business for Arsenal as our attack has been toothless at times this season and we desperately need to inject more creativity into the side ahead of next season.

Willian turns 32 in August but he’s shown this season that he’s still a top class player and he’d be a superb short-term addition to our attack. Nicolas Pepe has huge potential but Willian is the finished article and would be an upgrade on the right-wing.

Coutinho has lost his way since leaving Liverpool but he was a superstar at Anfield and would certainly help bring more creativity to the Arsenal team if we could get a deal agreed.

The 28-year-old can play as a central attacking midfielder or from the wings so he’d give Arteta a versatile option in attack. We won’t be able to afford to buy him so I think it would be a great piece of business if we could snap him up on loan.

The main stumbling block I can see is if we can’t offer them European football so let’s pray Arsenal somehow manage to secure a safe route the Europa League for next season.

This is rubbish. There’s no way we pay coutinhos wages with ozil still on the books. And pepe is 25 how is that huge potential. No chance we take Chelsea scraps again.

Biggest bull***t story ever first of all if we were to spend or increase wage bill on anything im sure defensive options would be the 1st on the list. Why pay big wages for attacking players when our defense is about as watertight as the titanic ( after the iceberg)

The major problem with the arsenal fc is the feeding midfielder then followed by the defense line. Since the boss doesn’t want to use Ozil then a replacement for him must be available. The defense need to be strengthened but we need that 10 the must.
