Arsenal to complete £27m signing on Tuesday + talks underway for £25m forward

It’s been another busy day of transfer news surrounding Arsenal with the club expected to wrap-up a deal for William Saliba while we’ve also held talks over Moise Kean.

Let’s start with L’Equipe’s report and they are claiming that Saliba will complete his proposed move to Arsenal on Tuesday after we finally agreed a £27m deal, including bonuses, with Saint-Etienne.

We’ve been chasing the 18-year-old all summer and after fighting off late interest from Tottenham, Arsenal chiefs finally found an agreement with Saint-Etienne after Saliba made it clear his preference was a move to the Emirates.

L’Equipe say the centre-back will sign a five-year contract before heading back to France on loan for next season with the deal expected to be sealed on Tuesday once the player returns from the United States.

Saliba is currently away with the rest of the Saint-Etienne squad on their pre-season tour but he’ll head back to Europe on Monday following their final game tomorrow night and will then make his way to London to wrap-up his move Arsenal.

Obviously it’s frustrating that Saliba will send next year out on loan as Arsenal need defensive reinforcements now but it will be a small price to pay if the French U20 international proves to be a superb addition to the squad.

Next up, and Gianluca Di Marzio is reporting that Arsenal are among the clubs to have opened talks with Juventus over a possible deal to sign exciting young attacker Moise Kean this summer.

The 19-year-old was expected to establish himself with the Serie A champions having come through their youth ranks to score 7 goals in 17 appearances last season – forging a reputation as one of the best young talents in Italian football.

However, Di Marzio claims Juventus are willing to cash-in on the teenager as they look to balance the books following the arrival of Matthijs de Ligt and Arsenal have now made contact to express their interest.

The Italian journalist says Juve want between €25m-€30m, which works out at £22.4m-£26.9m, and anything around £25m would be an excellent piece of business in today’s market for a player of Kean’s ability.

However, we aren’t the only club in the running for the forward as Di Marzio says Barcelona, Everton and Sevilla have also registered their interest so we’ll face plenty of competition if Kean does leave Juve this summer.
