Video: Arsenal 3-1 Brentford: Welbeck bags brace to book 4th round spot
Danny Welbeck and Alexandre Lacazette were on target as Arsenal eased in to the fourth round of the Carabao Cup with a 3-1 victory over Brentford at the Emirates tonight.
It was a bright start from Arsenal and we opened the scoring in the 5th minute as Danny Welbeck glanced home a fine header to make it 1-0 following a Matteo Guendouzi corner.
We doubled our lead shortly before half-time and it was a superb team goal as a move that involved Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Alex Iwobi and Nacho Monreal eventually led to Welbeck tapping home his second of the night from close range.
Arsenal took their foot off the gas after the break and Brentford got themselves back in the game as Alan Judge curled home a superb free-kick after Guendouzi had given away a needless foul on the edge of the area.
However, we wrapped up the win in stoppage time as Lacazette lashed home from 18 yards to make it 3-1 and book our place in the fourth round draw.
Here are the goals:
