3-4-2-1: The Arsenal XI that would thrash West Brom
Arsenal get back to Premier League action when we welcome West Brom to the Emirates on Monday night. Here is the team I’d like to see Arsene Wenger select….
Goalkeeper: Cech
Ospina started the League Cup win over Doncaster last time out but there’s no doubt Cech should be recalled tomorrow.
Defence: Mustafa, Koscielny, Monreal
There will be changes at the back with Koscielny certain to come back in after being rested last week while Monreal should also return to the defence.
Mustafi played in the middle of the back three against Chelsea last week and did very well but I’d like to see him on the right with Koscielny in the center.
Chambers, Mertesacker and Holding will all drop out despite keeping a clean sheet against Doncaster.
Midfield: Bellerin, Ramsey, Xhaka, Kolasinac
Nelson didn’t really take his chance on his full debut so Bellerin should return in the right wing-back role while Kolasinac should also be recalled on the left after being rested for the cup game.
Ramsey was excellent against Chelsea last weekend so will return in the middle of the park. Wilshere looked impressive against Doncaster and should be pushing for a starting spot if he continues to develop over the coming weeks but for now it should be Xhaka alongside Rambo.
Attack: Ozil, Sanchez, Lacazette
Sanchez was average against Doncaster and he clearly needs time to get back to his very best but I wouldn’t leave him out tomorrow night as he’s capable of producing moments of magic.
Welbeck has been ruled out for a few weeks with a groin injury so Ozil should get a recall in attack after overcoming a minor back injury that’s kept him out of the last two games.
Lacazette was rested last time out so the French international will return up front with Giroud dropping out after struggling to make much of an impression in the League Cup win.
Walcott will also drop out despite scoring the winner against Doncaster while Iwobi will be another option from the bench.
This would be my team on Sunday:
This is arguably our best eleven on paper [not counting Cazorla] so I think this side would thrash West Brom if Wenger goes with it tomorrow.
