Video: Arsenal 4-3 Leicester: Giroud scores dramatic winner

By on August 11, 2017

Olivier Giroud came off the bench to score a dramatic winner as Arsenal twice came from behind to beat Leicester 4-3 in a thriller at the Emirates tonight.

We made the perfect start as Lacazette opened his account with a superb first-time header from an Elneny cross to make it 1-0 inside the first two minutes.

Leicester equalised straight away thanks to some poor defensive play from Arsenal as a deep cross was headed back across goal where Okasaki was on hand to head home for 1-1. Cech, Kolasinac and Xhaka all played their part in the mess.

We then slipped behind and it was more terrible defending as Xhaka’s wayward pass just outside our area found Albrighton and his superb cross was turned home by Vardy in the 29th minute.

Arsenal grabbed a vital equaliser on the stroke of half time as Lacazette’s blocked shot fell to Kolasinac and the defender calmly teed-up Welbeck to tap home for 2-2.

More shocking defending from a 56th minute corner left Vardy free to flick home a header for 2-3 but Ramsey came off the bench to make it 3-3 with a lovely goal in the 82nd minute.

A dramatic opening game was complete when Giroud then grabbed the winner in the 86th minute as his header crashed off the underside of the bar and over the line to snatch all three points.
