[Photo] Sanchez shows off cut lip following Arsenal’s win over Leicester

Alexis Sanchez has taken to Twitter to show off a very minor cut lip following a feisty end to Arsenal’s fortunate 1-0 win over Leicester City this evening.

We were well below our best as the players struggled to find a rhythm with Sunday’s FA Cup extra-time win over Manchester City clearly still affecting some of the players.

We found a way through in fortunate circumstances as Nacho Monreal’s speculative effort from the edge of the area deflected of Robert Huth and in to the bottom corner in the 86th minute. [Watch the goal here]

The late blow woke Leicester up and they pushed for a late equaliser and things began to get a little naughty between the two sets of players with Sanchez in the middle of it.

First the Chilean international collapsed to the floor holding his face after Fuchs deliberately threw the ball at him from a throw-in after Alexis stood close to the touchline.

Minutes later, he was down on the floor again holding his face after Huth had gone straight through the back of him. Of course the Arsenal man was the only player to receive a yellow card from these two incidents, despite the rules stating both Leicester players should have been dismissed given they were already on yellows when they committed the fouls.

Anyway, Alexis has now taken to Twitter to show off his battle scars as he’s posted a picture showing a pretty pathetic cut on his lip and another snap of him holding an ice pack to his face.

He was borderline embarrassing for the way he play acted on the pitch but I’m not a fan of him posting these photos on social media. Isn’t he meant to be a tough South American who grew up playing football on the streets of Chile?

Arsenal won by the skin of their teeth/tooth.As is usual the gunners will attack down the centre ,no variation. Why not unleash a cross from the side or grounder so that someone could slide the ball in.
Spuds have won 8th game in a row. Its about time some team puts a dent in that run. Why not the gunners.
However if the gunners are slow in their attack, they could be rip e for the counter by Spuds.
