Video: Arsenal 3-1 Stoke: Iwobi goal sends Gunners top

By on December 10, 2016

Arsenal moved top of the Premier League table thanks to a 3-1 comeback win over Stoke at the Emirates this afternoon.

It was a lively start to the game but Stoke were given an absolute gift in the 29th minute when Lee Mason gave one of the softest penalties you are likely to see.

Granit Xhaka went for a loose ball in the box with Joe Allen, the two players had a coming together with Xhaka accidentally catching the much smaller Stoke player in the side of the head and somehow the ref thought it was a penalty. Charlie Adam scores to make it 0-1.

However, we managed to level things up just before half time as Theo Walcott poked home at the near post following a lovely move involving Alexis Sanchez and Hector Bellerin.

We then took the lead minutes after the restart and it was an excellent goal as Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain found Mesut Ozil with a lovely lofted pass over the top of the Stoke defence and the German looped a superb header over Grant for 2-1.

Alex Iwobi then came off the bench to make it 3-1 with a fine finish in the 74th minute to secure a 3-1 win which sees up go top of the table on goals scored from Chelsea.
