Arsenal’s £17m offer for Lucas Perez rejected by Deportivo

By on August 25, 2016

According to reports in Spanish outlet Cadena SER, Deportivo La Coruna have REJECTED Arsenal’s £17m offer for Lucas Perez because we want to pay the fee in two installments.

News broke over the past 24 hours that Arsenal had made a move to hijack Everton’s attempts to sign Lucas after reportedly entering the bidding late on Wednesday night.

The Telegraph reported this morning that Arsenal officials had flown out to Spain to thrash out a deal after we’d made it clear we were prepared to meet the strikers £17m release clause.

Marca suggested that the transfer should be wrapped-up within 24 hours so it looked as though we were finally set to sign that much-needed striker that we’ve been waiting for all summer.

The deal looked straightforward. Lucas has a very affordable clause and we’ve triggered it. The player wants the move, so things were meant to go smoothly with the striker set to be an Arsenal player before the weekend.

However, in true Arsenal style, we’ve complicated the situation and local outlet Radio Coruna report in Cadena SER that Deportivo have rejected our offer because we want to pay the £17m in two installments.

The La Liga outfit are under no obligation to accept anything other than the fee to be paid in full and the report indicates they’ve made this clear to Arsenal.

We really don’t make life easy do we?! I suppose it was worth a try, but with the kind of cash reserves Wenger has at his disposal, there is no reason we need to pay Lucas’s £17m fee in two installments.

I fully expect us to eventually agree to pay the fee in one lump sum which should pave the way for Lucas to complete his move to Arsenal, but knowing us we’ll now drag this one out all the way to deadline day.

But will the player want to come now? I mean, imagine how the player must feel when a club who has over £150m in the bank doesn’t feel it can chance a paltry £17m fee all in one go.

This board and manager ate pathetic.

      Questions:

Why do you think this report is true?

What makes you say that 17 Million is “paltry”? You must be Soooooo rich…

What makes you think Arsenal has 150 million to spend on transfer fees?

What makes you feel that you’re not the one who is “pathetic” when you’re clearly working out your problems with authority?

Same question: What makes you think this is real? There’s so many fake stories out there…

But the people who actually know and do are not serious?

      Seriously..?
