[Tweet] Theo Walcott responds on Twitter after England squad snub
Arsenal attacker Theo Walcott has taken to Twitter to respond after he was left out of England’s 26-man provisional squad ahead of this summer’s European Championships.
Roy Hodgson named a 26-man squad this morning for England’s upcoming warm up games against Turkey, Australia and Portugal in preparation for Euro 2016 but there was just one Arsenal player selected.
Jack Wilshere made the cut after returning to full fitness following another injury-plagued campaign but Walcott was overlooked with Hodgson opting for Newcastle United winger Andros Townsend.
The 27-year-old has taken to Twitter to react to the news and he’s said he respects Hodgson’s decision and wishes the England squad all the best this summer.
It’s difficult to make a case that Theo deserved a place in the squad as he’s fallen out-of-favour under Arsene Wenger and has barely played any football in recent weeks.
Walcott hasn’t started for Arsenal since our 3-2 defeat at Manchester United at the end of February and when he has come off the bench, he’s been pretty woeful to be honest.
Here are the Tweets he sent out earlier:
I am of course disappointed not to make the squad, but I have spoken with Roy and respect his decision

I wish Roy and all the team the best of luck for a successful Euro's.
