Arsenal Set To Table ‘Big Offer’ For €40m Argentinean – Reports

By on April 10, 2015

According to reports today, Arsenal are set to table a ‘big offer’ for Palermo hitman Paulo Dybala in a bid to beat Juventus to his signature.

Dybala is set for a move this summer after rejecting a new deal and Arsenal are one of several clubs who’ve been strongly linked in recent months.

Palermo president Maurizio Zamparini suggested earlier this month that the 21-year-old favours a move to Juventus but named Arsenal as the club the player would like to join if he comes to the Premier League.

Zamparini also revealed that both Arsenal and Juventus had tabled firm offers for the striker. He’s quoted as saying:

“Juventus and Arsenal have already made offers.

“[Pierpaolo] Triulzi, the lad’s agent will be in Italy on Friday. I’m asking for more than €40m [£29m].

“Dybala would prefer to stay in Italy, but the British team Arsenal are the first choice of the lad because of the way Wenger’s team plays.”

However, reports claim the Serie A champions offer fell well short of their €40m (£29m) valuation and it seems Arsenal are now ready to table a fresh offer of their own.

The Daily Star are citing reports coming out of Italy that claim we’re set to make a €34.5m (£25m) bid that will also include various performance-related add ons.

It remains to be seen whether that will be enough to appease Palermo, but it is closer to their asking price – especially when you take into account the bonuses.

Arsene Wenger denied any interest in Dybala last week but we should know better by now than to believe the boss when it comes to transfers.

We’ll have to wait and see how things develop over the coming weeks but if we’re going to sign another forward this summer, Dybala certainly looks like a realistic target.
