It’s time to put Wednesday’s disappointment behind us and get back to Premier League action as we entertain Everton at the Emirates tomorrow afternoon.

The loss to Monaco was a total shambles and all of our glaring weaknesses were once again exposed in humiliating fashion, but let’s not lose sight of the fact that had we (Olivier Giroud) taken our chances, we’d have easily won the game.

Obviously we didn’t take those chances on the night, but point being that Monaco aren’t a great side and we should be able to create plenty of goal-scoring opportunities in the second leg, so all isn’t lost just yet.

Anyway, its the Premier League that counts tomorrow and we’ve dropped to fourth in the table after Man Utd fluked another 2-0 win over 10-man Sunderland today with the former Utd players doing their best to help their old team out.

A win over Everton will see us leapfrog United back into third ahead of the midweek fixtures that see us visit Loftus Road to face Queens Park Rangers. Southampton lost today, Liverpool face  tough game against Man City tomorrow while Spurs are playing in the League Cup final, so hopefully we can put a bit of daylight between us and the chasing pack.

Team News

Jack Wilshere is out again after needing minor surgery on his ankle. It’s not going to keep him on the sidelines for too long, but he’ll miss at least the next three games.

Aaron Ramsey is back in full training but he’s unlikely to be rushed back for the Everton game, however, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is available having made his comeback in midweek.

Mathieu Flamini is also back in training but Mikel Arteta and Mathieu Debuchy are still ‘weeks’ away from returning to action.

As for Everton, Romelu Lukaku is expected to shake off a minor knock that he picked up in midweek but Steven Pienaar, Aiden McGeady, Christian Atsu and Bryan Oviedo are out.

Preferred Line-Up

I think it’s time for Szczesny to be recalled. I’ve not been convinced by Ospina since he was brought in and again I feel he could have done better for all three goals against Monaco.

I’d also bring Chambers in for a bit more solidity at the back. Bellerin likes to push forward and with my preference being Gibbs at left-back, it’s dangerous to have two attacking full-backs play at once – as we found out on Wednesday!

I’d certainly bring Theo Walcott in and move Welbeck up top. Giroud’s confidence is going to be at an all-time low after his horror show in midweek so best to give him some time out the spot light.

In reality, I expect Wenger will probably go with Ospina, Bellerin, Monreal and Giroud. Either way, we should have a side capable of getting the three points…

Predicted score

Historically we have a good record against Everton but we’ve now gone five games without a win against them, so we’re certainly due. They should be tired from playing on Thursday night and hopefully the players will be fired-up to make amends for the Monaco game.

Arsenal 2-0 Everton
