Fabregas Linked With Stunning Arsenal Return – Report

By on April 21, 2014

Arsenal are interested in signing former skipper Cesc Fabregas after his future at Barcelona was thrown into doubt this weekend, writes the Daily Mail.

Fabregas made a £35m move back to the Nou Camp in 2011 after eight years at Arsenal where he made over 300 appearances for the club. However, although he’s won a number of trophies with the Catalans, including the La Liga title, his time has back at his boyhood team has been anything but smooth.

Fabregas has often been forced to play out of position either out wide or up front in a ‘false 9’ position, and it’s affected his performances on the pitch. He’s still got a very healthy 13 goals and 15 assist this season but that’s not been enough to satisfy the Nou Camp faithful, who are showing increasing signs of frustration towards the 26-year-old.

Cesc is frequently jeered by his own fans and has been booed off the pitch on several occasions this season, with team mate Andres Iniesta admitting that it’s become an uncomfortable situation:

‘Of course it hurts to see Cesc jeered. You try to ignore it and hope it does not happen, but these situations are not comfortable.’

Now the fans have made their feelings even clearer after a poll of over 140,000 fans conducted by Marca showed that 50% of Barca supporters would like to see Fabregas sold this summer (80% want Alex Song gone!).

Cesc’s body language has been showing clear signs of frustration this season and I really wouldn’t be surprised at all if he was up for a move away at the end of the season. Arsene said last summer, when we were being linked with a move, that ‘his information was Cesc would stay at least another season’.

Many newspapers claimed back in July that Wenger had personally spoken to Fabregas and told him he’d do all he could to bring him back to Arsenal if he wanted to come. Could this become a reality this summer? Could Arsene tempt him back to north London?

Obviously the major stumbling block is going to be the fact that Barcelona won’t sell unless their transfer ban is lifted, but several journalists feel the ban will at least be reduced if not lifted altogether. The other issue would be price, but we have up to £100m to spend so the money is there if the club want to do a deal.

I know some fans still harbour some feelings towards him for the way he left, but I would love to him back at the club. He’s probably not the ideal player we need right now, but you just couldn’t say no to having him back.

Fabregas and Rambo behind Ozil next season? That could be tasty!

We have moved on. He was a great player but too many creative players, and not enough steel will us nothing.

were you saying that the weeks when we couldn’t select Rambo + Ozil + Wilshere. We need a better squad. We need a defensive mid, but we also need more creative mids. Small players get injured more, so have more of them. Add Lars Bender or Paul Pogba to the mix 🙂

Barca have appealed to CAS over their ban. The case will be decided in August. That means the Ban won’t START until after the window is open for at least a month. And Barca plan to do a lot of business in getting players out.

We have a buy back £25m and £38m buy out. That means we could get him for £25m now that Moyes has been fired.

It would be foolish not to. He is loved by Gooners. Would mean Santi leaves and mayebe we can do something with Santi for Morata.

As much as I loved our former man. He is not the player we need. I would rather a defensive midfielder, a left winger, a goal keeper and of course Balotteli.

Agree. Cesc, Rambo and Ozil in midfield is defensively weak. We need a Pogba or Bender not Cesc

U want balottelli. The guy will ruin the entire spirit of arsenal. He already has had a negative impact in england with Man City. We don’t someone like him. He has quality but no temperament. He will always cause more to arsenal. So no thank u. Besides I feel Only the Italian mafia can handle balotelli. Let him stay in Italy. We don’t want him. Let the mob control him.

I would love him to come back, i feel we miss those long passes he usually assist. that is something we sorely miss, i saw some of those passes sometimes from Santi and Kallstrom when he played. I think the more the better, this season we have too little to cover those who are injured. He is one signing who could lift our spirit like Ozil signed for us. But we do need a defensive midfielder like Pogba or Bender. For striker i would love to see Pato, he might be out of form right now but Arsene does wonders to those who are out of form, Pato when is on form no body can stop him, he is what we need speed and finish.

It maybe true he is not the player we need, it’s also true there is resentment that he left at his prime, but under no circumstances we can loose him to Manure even if we need to drop all the French deadwood in the team, Giroud, Sanogo and counting….I believe him and Benzema would give us leverage, more mature that when he left he can turn into the leader that we desperately need in this sqad.

We had a first option buy-back clause inserted into the deal that took him to Barca, which also included the buy-back price of £25million. So, it doesn’t matter what clubs like Utd want, if we want him back, we get him, end of story. It will be good if he does come back as he can revert back to a box to box midfielder which would solve quite a few problems in one move….Bring him back!!!

Arsenal will not buy him back this season. The team will be unbalanced lack of defensive quality. Money is limited. We need a pacy and unpredictable winger/striker, defensive midfielder and Central back
We would need Alex Song. Anyway, there is ban on transfer of Barca.
