Arsenal Fans Screwed! Club Confirms Fixture Change To Help Chelsea
Arsenal have today confirmed that our fixture against Hull City has been moved in order to help Chelsea.
The Blues were drawn to play Atletico Madrid in the semi finals of the Champions League this morning with the first leg due to take place on Tuesday, April 22.
Consequently, their Premier League match at home to Sunderland – which was meant to be played on Sunday 20th – has been moved to the Saturday to give them an extra days rest.
However, the clever chaps at the Premier League and Sky have decided to give Arsenal and Hull fans just eight days notice that our game – which was scheduled for next Saturday – will now be shown live on Sky Sports on the Sunday, kicking off at 2.05pm.
It’s totally understandable that the Chelsea game should be moved to give them more rest between the fixtures, but I’m not sure Arsenal fans should be the ones who suffer here.
Hundreds, if not thousands, will already have made their travel arrangements, booked trains and hotels, and are now likely to incur fees to change their bookings at late notice.
The club have apologised and say it was out of their control, but I hope they make provisions to reimburse those who will be put out of pocket by this late change as it’s totally out of order.
