Ozil & Podolski React On Twitter To Arsenal Drawing Bayern Munich

By on December 16, 2013

The draw for the knockout stages of the Champions League took place on Monday morning and we’ve been handed the toughest test of all – Bayern Munich.

We knew it was going to be a tough draw after finishing second in our group but they don’t get any more difficult that playing the defending champions.

Obviously this is the second year in succession we’ve drawn Bayern at this stage of the competition and we acquitted ourselves well last season, only going out on away goals after the tie finished 3-3, so hopefully we can go one better this time around.

After the draw was made, two of Arsenal’s German contingent took to Twitter to react to be pitted against Munich, here’s what Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski had to say:

Who says Arsenal cannot beat Bayern? The present team only needs enforcement with a good striker and a good defender but I know Wenger the dreamer will not bring in anybody. He will insist that he has a good team now. Good luck to him.

Is there the right calibre of player out there to improve Arsenals squad? Apart from Suarez all the othe world class or top quality strikers are playing for other champions league teams. Wenger will not buy a stop gap forward that isn’t better than Giroud because Wenger wouldn’t want to be stuck with another avarage player like Chamak or Bendtner. Benteke I feel, might be able to add something extra but he’s not world class or at the highest level.

We just need composure among our players to beat Bayern.Otherwise if it were not team maturity and mental strength among our players,we wouldn’t be here in the champs League and even Premiership.Le proffeseur, just get us a prolific striker in Jan and Bayern will just be ran over

Something is fishy here, as runnersup last season we were given the strongest opponent bayern, the season before as winners we were given the strongest runners up milan, the previous two seasons we were drawn with barca the strongest squad in the history of the game… I just dont get it

What is the meaning of a good team without a striker its left to Arsene wenger to open up that he didn’t have a striker to challenge other team in the EPL and UCL

All the talk about buying a top class striker in January is a mission.
Most of them will be cup tied.

Drop Giroud & play 4-4-2 formation as:
    Podolski-Walcott
    Cazorla-Ramsey-Wilshere-Ozil
    Gibbs-Martesakar-Koscielny-Sagna
    Szczęsny

It is obvious Arsenal should not depend on Giroud if we are to lift a trophy this season. An ambitious and prolific striker could be the solution which even a blind coach would have made positive moves towards just by hearing the deeds of others very close to his side. some times I wonder if Wenger himself is ambitious. We are tired of been provoked all this whil, put a smile on our faces please! just one addition will complete our mission.
