My Predicted Arsenal Team To Take On Liverpool

By on October 31, 2013

We welcome third-placed Liverpool to the Emirates on Saturday, here’s my predicted team for the game.

The visitors are sitting just two points behind us in the league table so we can’t afford another slip us at home this weekend after two successive losses at the Emirates.

Boss Arsene Wenger will recall a number of players who were rested for Tuesday’s 2-0 loss to Chelsea in the League Cup.

The likes of Wojciech Szczesny, Bacary Sagna, Per Mertesacker and Kieran Gibbs will all come back in while Mikel Arteta will start having served a one-match ban in midweek. Mathieu Flamini is out with a groin injury so it will be interesting to see who the boss plays alongside him in midfield.

The smart money would be on Aaron Ramsey playing in the middle with Jack Wilshere on the flank. Santi Cazorla and Mesut Ozil should make up the attack behind Olivier Giroud up front.

With the exception of Flamini and the injured Theo Walcott, it’s arguably our strongest line-up and one that should be capable of beating Liverpool on home soil.

    There isnt any width in that side,and Liverpool will hit use on the break with SUAREZ STURRIDGE & COUTINHO 😉
    I can see an easy afternoon for Liverpool at the immigration centre 😉

      Immigration centre? At least we have a 21st century stadium! And you may have good strikers in SandS but we have Ozil, Cazorla, Whilshere, Ramsey, Arteta and Giroud… Our midfield is 10x better than yours so my feeling is that you will be overrun in the middle. Prediction is 3-1 with Suarez to score for Liverpool and Giroud, Cazorla and a goal from a corner for Arsenal.

    It will surely be an easy win for arsenal, with the squad above, Liverpool are too weak to stand arsenal at the moment.
    my prediction will be 3-1 for arsenal:

      Arteta is back in team, he served out his punishment in the last game we played against chelsea.

    Since Liverpool last won the title in 1990, both teams have met 46 times in the league:

    Draws = 14
    Arsenal wins = 15
    Liverpool wins = 17
