PICTURE: Gervinho With His New Roma Shirt Ahead Of £7m Move

By on August 4, 2013

It looks like yet another player has sealed a move away from Arsenal this summer with the pictures below showing Gervinho holding his new Roma shirt after arriving in Italy to complete a £7m move.

Speculation has been rife in recent days that a deal with Roma was close that would see the 26-year-old move for £7m plus an additional £1.7m in add ons and the attacker arrived in Italy on Sunday afternoon to undergo a medical and put pen to paper.

Boss Arsene Wenger confirmed after our 2-1 loss to Galatasaray that Gervinho was on his way to Serie A to link up with former boss Rudi Garcia:

“Gervinho, we are at the moment close to an agreement with a club where he should go.” Wenger told Sky Sports

As you can see from the picture below, Gervinho is now donning his Roma scarf and holding his new shirt.

With Gervinho following the likes of Arshavin, Squillaci, Coquelin, Djourou, Denilson, Mannone and probably Chamakh out the door, it HAS to be time for Arsene Wenger to turn his attention to bringing IN some new players. Surely!?

Are you sad to see Gervinho leave?

Wait until wenger uses that in his next press conference and goes and signs 4 17 year olds, Stewart Downing and Gareth Barry.

good luck gervinho,i know u had your own shortcomings on the pitch as you failed to convert some simplest of chances, but overall your perfomances were good,i ll miss your pace when we doing counter attacks especially from corners, you were so quick & your ability to dismantle defences, you seemed to be on a quiet side but above that you were professional in the way you hundled your sustitutions & changed games when you came on as a sub,as a Zambian i also credit you for havin missed what could ve won you the afcon in that shootout then after that we scored,so i ll trully remember you as a player i loved to watch at my beloved Arsenal & a catalyst to our winning the afcon as a country, best of luck at roma & hope you ll ve a lot of gametime & u should know that in my heart you will stay, farewell kid bro!!

Wenger and Gazidi is the problem, l’ve said times without number, they are after their pocket, unless we chase them out before we can move forward. World over, nobody takes Wenger serious anymore. l can use the word HEARTLESS because they don’t have fans’ interest in their mind, their agenda is to succeed in getting the top four every season, and let me tell you once more that their aim will not be achieved this season, unless something drastically is done to flush this BABA-JEBU (Wenger) out of the Emirate

The 4 main signings we need to get
Julio Cesar – Brazil’s 1st choice keeper shouldn’t play in the Championship and he wants to stay in London and with Arsenal interested, they should buy him
Ashley Williams- Had a great season at Swansea and at 8.5 m you are getting a good deal for him.
Cesc Fabregas – Arsenal need to buy a good midfielder and can’t keep on relying on youngsters to do the job. With Barcelona being “paranoid” over losing him for 25 m as written in his clause but only Arsenal can activate this.
Wayne Rooney- I think Arsenal should forget about Luis Suarez and turn to Wayne Rooney. My reasons are that if you buy Suarez, he’s still got the 6 game ban , his behaviour is appalling and he hogs the ball. Wayne Rooney has told Moyes he wants to leave as he is most likely to be back up to RVP, and so I think he is the guy who is going to score 20+ goals every season. Man Utd sort of owe Arsenal for Van Persie so repay us with WR ? He is also 20m cheaper than Suarez as LFC want 55m and Rooney is about 35m . Comment if you like this comment.
