According to The Sun, Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez has snubbed a huge £400,000-a-week contract offer from China in order to hold out for a move to Manchester City.

Sanchez has just six months remaining on his current contract at the Emirates and is set to leave after making it clear he won’t be signing an extension.

He almost joined City on deadline day in the summer and the Citizens are expected to renew their interest this winter so we could decide to cash-in rather than lose Alexis for nothing in June.

The Chilean international has also been linked with moves abroad to the likes of Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich but it looks like another rich foreign club has tried their luck.

The Sun claim Hebei China Fortune have tried to tempt Sanchez to the Chinese Super League after offering him a mega contract worth £400,000-a-week, which works out at £21m per year after tax.

However, the newspaper says Alexis has turned down the huge offer as he has his heart set on joining Manchester City and linking up with Pep Guardiola again having played under him at Barcelona.

I said in the summer we should have sold Sanchez when we had the chance and sadly his form has been woeful so far this season so it was a huge mistake to keep him.

It’s only a matter of time before he joins City so I say sell in January for £25m-£30m rather than see him walk away for nothing in June. However, Wenger has to buy a replacement if we do sell this winter, which won’t be easy.
