South American wants to join Arsenal, Wenger to renew interest

By on April 28, 2017

According to a report in the Daily Star, Arsene Wenger is set to renew his interest in Carloc Bacca with the Colombian international striker keen on joining Arsenal when he leaves AC Milan this summer.

We were linked with a move for Bacca last summer before eventually signing Lucas Perez but with the Spaniard tipped to leave following a frustrating season in England, it seems the boss is back in the market for another striker.

The Daily Star are carrying a report from Italy that claims Wenger is ready to renew his interest in signing Bacca as the 30-year-old gets ready to leave AC Milan at the end of the season.

The Colombian international has enjoyed a solid season at the San Siro having scored 13 Serie A goals in his 28 appearances while he’s also chipped in with 4 assists for his team mates.

However, the Daily Star says Bacca wants to play in the Premier League next year and has set his sights on joining Arsenal, so it looks like a move could be on the cards if we can agree a fee with AC Milan.

I expect us to bring in at least one new striker this summer, depending on what happens with Alexis Sanchez, but I’m not too sure about the prospect of signing Bacca.

He’s a decent goal-scorer but I’m not convinced he’s at the level we need to really make us genuine title challengers next season. I mean, is he really that much better than what we’ve already got in the squad?

Personally, I’d rather we kept hold of Perez and gave him a proper chance to prove himself but it looks like Wenger isn’t a fan….which makes you wonder why he bought him in the first place.
