[Ratings] Jenkinson flops as Arsenal crash to Southampton

By on November 30, 2016

Arsenal crashed out of the EFL Cup thanks to a shocking display as Southampton ran out deserved 2-0 winners at the Emirates tonight.

Here are my ratings:

Martinez  6.5/10 | Not particularly at fault for their goals and made a couple of decent saves to keep the score respectable.

Jenkinson  4/10 | Very poor evening for the lovable full-back. Shocking defending at times before he was subbed off in the 64th minute. His form is a real worry with Bellerin and Debuchy out injured.

Holding  6/10 | Won a few headers but could have put in a better challenge to stop Bertrand’s goal.

Gabriel  6/10 | Did nothing to suggest he’ll be taking Mustafi or Koscielny’s place any time soon.

Gibbs  5.5/10 | Subdued performance from the stand-in skipper.

Coquelin  5/10 | What position was he meant to be playing? One minute he’s in the holding role, then he’s in the No.10!

Elneny  5/10 | Did very little before going off ill just before half time.

Reine-Adelaide  5/10 | A few decent touches but didn’t take his chance to shine.

Ramsey  5/10 | Given his chance in the No.10 position but was terrible. Mesut Ozil can sleep easy.

Iwobi  5/10 | Another below par performance from Alex. Definitely lacking confidence right now.

Perez  5/10 | He lacked service but his touch was poor and he wasn’t a threat at all.

Subs:

Xhaka  6/10 | A few stray passes but at least he added a bit of urgency to our play.

Oxlade-Chamberlain 5/10 | Missed a great chance to get a goal back with 10 minutes to go.

Maitland-Niles 5/10 | More of a threat than Jenks at right-back but his crossing was still suspect.
