Thierry Henry Joins Arsenal As Youth Team Coach
According to the Daily Mail, Thierry Henry has began working with Arsenal’s youth academy as he takes his first steps into coaching.
The Gunners legend recently signed up to a big-money contract to be a pundit with Sky Sports, but he’s also outlined his ambition to be a future manager.
Henry has already started working towards his UEFA ‘A’ and ‘B’ coaching badges following a trip to Wales last month and now it seems he’s continuing his work a little closer to home.
The Daily Mail claim that Arsenal have allowed Thierry to come back to the club to work with the youngsters at the Hale End Youth Academy and he’s already taken a number of coaching sessions with various age groups.
Henry will be able to pass on priceless knowledge to the Arsenal kids but the hands-on coaching will also give the 37-year-old valuable experience that will help his achieve his coaching aspirations.
I think this is a win-win for all parties and it’s great to see a true Gunners legend working closely with the club. Hopefully Thierry can build up his experience, get his coaching badges and then move up the ranks within Arsenal.
It would be great to see him eventually coaching the first team players and then possibly move into management by taking over one of the youth teams.
Thierry has all the attributes to be a top coach and manager, but it’s all about gaining the right experience and taking the right steps to ensure he doesn’t jump in at the deep end as some former players have done in the past, without too much success.
