Arsenal make contact to sign Juventus’s Kenan Yildiz
Arsenal have reportedly made contact to sign Juventus forward Kenan Yildiz, as per The Athletic.
Although the Bianconeri displayed inconsistent performances last term, the 21-year-old showcased his productivity, scoring 11 goals and registering nine assists in 47 appearances across all competitions.
After proving his worth at Allianz Stadium, the youngster has established himself as an integral part of the Turkiye national team’s starting line-up and is set to play a key role for his country in this World Cup.
Now, The Athletic report that Arsenal are considering reinforcing the left flank this summer and have identified Yildiz as a serious option, having been impressed by his recent eye-catching performances.
They have even held talks with Juventus to learn about the details of signing him. However, the Italian giants have made it clear that the forward isn’t up for sale, with his existing deal set to run until 2030.
Yildiz, standing at 6ft 1in tall, is a left-winger by trait but can also provide cover in the creative midfield position if needed. He is quick, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, has the ability to score spectacular goals from outside the box, and also works hard without possession.
Despite winning the Premier League title last term, Arsenal are said to be keen on purchasing a new left-winger as Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard displayed average performances.
Yildiz to Arsenal
Yildiz is one of the best forwards in Serie A and possesses the potential to become one of the best wingers in the world. So, he would have been a great coup for Arsenal had they managed to purchase him.
Meanwhile, apart from Yildiz, Arsenal have also been linked with a move for AC Milan star Rafael Leao and Aston Villa ace Morgan Rogers. It has been suggested that the duo might be available this summer.
Rogers is a Premier League-proven player and might be a better option for Arsenal over Leao, who has struggled to showcase consistency over the last few years.
Nevertheless, it is going to be interesting to see who the North London club eventually opt to purchase to reinforce the left flank in this summer transfer window.
