Arsenal injury update: Noni Madueke suffers huge injury scare ahead of UCL final

Arsenal have been dealt a fresh injury scare after Noni Madueke was forced off with an apparent hamstring issue in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
Having already secured the Premier League title earlier in the week, Mikel Arteta handed Madueke his first start in a month during Sunday’s clash at Selhurst Park, with the Arsenal boss making nine alterations from the side that defeated Burnley 1–0 earlier in the week.
The former Chelsea winger scored Arsenal’s final league goal of the season as the Gunners overcame Palace 2–1 in matchweek 38.
However, Madueke’s availability for the upcoming UEFA Champions League final at Puskás Aréna in Budapest could now be uncertain after his appearance against Palace ended shortly before full-time.
He was spotted clutching the back of his left leg during the closing 10 minutes and was eventually substituted for Viktor Gyökeres after receiving treatment from the medical staff.
The winger’s withdrawal may also have caused concern for Thomas Tuchel, who recently included him in the England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which begins on June 11.
Injury scare
Despite appearing to pick up a knock, Madueke still joined his teammates during the trophy celebrations in front of the travelling supporters. Encouragingly for Arteta ahead of preparations for the UEFA Champions League final, the former 24-year-old, who was superb against Palace, did not seem overly affected by the issue.
However, while Arteta is yet to clarify the severity of the injury, Standard Sport, in a recent update, reveals that Madueke was not seen in any visible discomfort before and after the title celebrations.
This suggests that the England international may have avoided any injury scare, or the injury is minor and not expected to hamper his chances of participating in the final.
Alongside the celebrations surrounding the title triumph, there was further excitement for Arsenal as Mikel Merino returned to action after spending three months sidelined with a foot injury.
The Spaniard’s comeback meant Ben White and Jurrien Timber are the only current injured players in the squad. While there’s optimism that Timber could still play a part in the final, White is certain to be out as he was seen wearing a knee brace during the celebrations at Selhurst Park.
