Arsenal are reportedly planning to reignite their interest in signing Barcelona star Raphinha, as per Spanish outlet Fichajes.

After moving to Camp Nou from Leeds United back in 2022, the Brazilian initially struggled to settle into his new surroundings. However, since Hansi Flick’s arrival as the manager, he has been showcasing his best in recent years.

In 57 appearances across all competitions, the 29-year-old made 56 goal contributions last term. Moreover, he guided his team to win the domestic treble.

This season, the South American has had a few injury problems. Still, he has shown his productivity, scoring 13 goals and registering five assists in 22 appearances in all tournaments. He has even been helping his side to mount a title charge once again.

Now, Fichajes state that after being impressed by Raphinha’s recent impressive performances, Arsenal have registered their interest in signing him.

The Gunners reportedly expressed their interest in the forward a few years ago, having been attracted by his displays for Leeds. But the player eventually decided to join the Catalan giants.

The report state that Barcelona have no intention of parting ways with Raphinha, with his existing deal set to run until 2028. They will only allow his departure if his potential suitors, such as Arsenal, trigger his €1B release clause.

Raphinha to Arsenal

Raphinha used to be a right winger, but following Lamine Yamal’s emergence, he has been featuring on the opposite side. Moreover, he can provide cover in the CAM position if needed.

He is quick, strong, technically sound, can dribble past opposition defenders in tight areas, is efficient in finishing off his chances, can create opportunities for fellow attackers, and also works hard without possession.

Having previously played for Leeds United, he is already familiar with the Premier League’s physicality. The Barcelona star is currently one of the best players in the world and finished in fifth position in the Ballon d’Or. So, he would be a great coup for Arsenal should they purchase him.

However, it is going to be interesting to see whether the North London club eventually manage to lure him to the Emirates Stadium in the upcoming summer transfer window.
