Video: Man City 3-1 Arsenal: Aguero punishes tired Gunners
Arsenal lost 3-1 to Manchester City this evening with Sergio Aguero once again our nemesis as he scored all three goals.
In typical Arsenal fashion, we started a big game poorly and City opened the scoring inside the first minute. Alex Iwobi dwelt on the ball and gave away possession on the edge of the area, America Laporte crossed and Sergio Aguero headed home for 1-0. Shocking defending and way too easy for City.
Shkodran Mustafi was fortunate not to give away a penalty minutes later and Laporte rightly had a goal ruled out for offside as Arsenal were under the cosh.
However, we somehow found an equaliser in the 11th minute as Laurent Kocielny headed home from close range from a Lucas Torreira corner.
We settled in to the game and were more than holding our own against City but with just minutes until half-time, we got ripped open by a superb move and Aguero tapped home for 2-1.
Some of the Arsenal players looked knackered in the second half and City extended their lead in the 61st minute when Aguero bundled the ball home after Bernd Leno parried a Sterling cross. It was fortunate to stand as replays showed the ball went in off Auger’s arm.
We barely created a chance in the second half and limped to a 3-1 defeat which leaves us sitting sixth in the table.
Here are the goals:
