Video: Stoke 1-0 Arsenal: Gunners robbed at the Britannia
Arsenal were robbed by shocking officiating as we slumped to a disappointing 1-0 defeat away to Stoke City this evening.
We dominated play and should have had at least one penalty during the first half as Bellerin was taken out by Diouf but the referee waived play on.
Unsurprisingly, Stoke took full advantage of their good fortune as the broke the deadlock shortly after half-time and Xhaka was at fault again – just as he was against Leicester last week.
The Swiss international gave away possession on the half way line, Stoke burst towards our area, Monreal failed to track Jese and he buried it in to the bottom corner. 1-0.
Our bad luck continued as Welbeck could have had another penalty in the second half while Lacazette controversially saw a goal ruled out for offside.
We couldn’t find a way through their 11-man defensive wall so we slumped to a 1-0 defeat at the Britannia.
I don’t usually like to complain about the referees but Mariner was woeful today and he certainly cost Arsenal at least one point.
Here are some highlights:

If Oezil is asking arsenal to pay him 300,000 pounds a week then he must play to the level of a world-class player worthy of that pay. At the moment he is not one, I didn’t even see his name in the list of the world footballer of the year nominees.
I like Dhaka as a decent midfield player but he is too prone to errors that have proved to be costly to the team. He made two against Leicester city two Fridays ago and one again against stoke city last night. How many do we still expect from him?
Ox laden chamberlain appeared recently to have improved in his performances and suddenly begun to refuse to extend his contract. He is now agitating to leave the club, demanding a pay increase to 150,000 pounds a week. Walcot did the same at a time when he scored a few goals, today he has gone so quiet.
