Arsenal boss confirms major injury boost ahead of Everton clash

Arsene Wenger has confirmed a major injury boost after revealing that Aaron Ramsey should be fit for Arsenal’s crucial clash with Everton this weekend.

Ramsey pulled up holding his right calf midway through the second half during our 2-0 victory over Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium last night.

The Welshman immediately signalled to the bench and limped down the tunnel with the physio after being replaced by Danny Welbeck in the 69th minute.

It looked as though the midfielder had tweaked a calf problem that he had last month which would almost certainly have seen him ruled out of our remaining two games against Everton and Chelsea.

However, it appears we’ve had some positive news as the Mirror claim that Wenger told reporters after the game that the injury isn’t serious and Ramsey should be available for Sunday’s final Premier League game with Everton.

The newspaper quotes Arsene as saying:

“He [Ramsey] is fine.”

Ramsey has been getting back to some excellent form in recent games following a frustrating campaign so it’s good to hear he’ll be available for the final two games.

We still have a glimmer of hope of securing fourth place after beating Sunderland last night so if we can get three points off Everton and Middlesbrough do us a favour at Anfield, we’ll snatch Champions League qualification on the final day of the season.
